Virtual Dive technology is coming out of the workplace and into homes. Nigmus Online is the first MMO to use this new device. The only caveat to the game; there is no manual. The only instruction the player gets is how to interact with the user interface. That's it. Nobody is going to hold their hand or give out rare items. Players begin life as a level zero commoner. Its entirely up to them what class they become. Explore a world that spans five continents.
~Story Summary~
Liam is tricked into trying an expensive and innovative online MMO. On his first trip into the game he stumbles upon a hidden class. The Undead Necromancer. Intrigued by this turn in events he continues to explore this mysterious world.
In another part of the country Kathrine(Kat) suffers from a debilitating and paralyzing disease. Taking part in an experimental research could offer her a new lease on life (of a sort).
Even further afield Russia and China are undergoing a massive spike in suicide rate. What could be causing so many young adults to dire ends?

As stated before grammatical errors do plague this otherwise good story. There were times during my reading experience that I would reread paragraphs simply because the moment was so good. I also found myself liking certain characters more and more.
This book could have benefitted from being longer. There are character developments toward the end of the book that popup without a hint that the character had been feeling that way all along. I also feel some developments are unresolved or vague. Whether or not this is because of an intended sequel I cannot say.
For example a character has a huge change of heart about corporate espionage. We know that he has to run damage control for a rogue employee, but we have no idea what happens that makes him think that he must go through with the espionage.
There is a long section about a merchant that kind of comes to nothing.
My favorite parts of this book are the untraditional class selection and mysteries of nigmus online, the characters and their struggles, and the ease of reading when grammar isn't getting in the way. This book also evoked emotions in me, which I appreciate.
The parts that I don't like are the grammar issues, the anti climactic ending (which would have been better if the writing hadn't suddenly changed to present tense from past tense in chapter 43), the extremely interesting hooks that we kind of get left hanging on, and a seemingly rushed conclusion.
With some tweaking this could be a delightful read. The foundation is there.

Nigmus Online eBook Noah Barnett Reviews
Lame title, awesome story. Can't wait for the next book. Soon I hope.
I wonder if "Nigmus" was chosen because it is an anagram for musing?
Good read, interesting twists. This book definitely steps out of the generic lit RPG formula. I'm interested in seeing what happens in book two.
I enjoyed this book very much and hope there is a sequel. Never got bored never wanted it to end
This was surprisingly a really good read. I only picked it up because the cover looked cool. But it turned out to be a great story full of twists and turns and lots of dark moments. I would love to see more of this world.
Really well done. Unexpected twists, more character development than I would usually expect from an easy read, and enough uncertainty in the "happily ever after" to give it a more realistic flavor. The game interface workings were fascinating and quite interesting all on their own. Nice work on the author's part, all around.
There were a lot of grammar errors and a few spelling ones as well and one short portion of the book suddenly changes tense. Nevertheless, it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.
It would have been nice if they could have backed up the two of them, but it was still a sweet story. Some bloodshed, a bit of romance, a murder . . .
In all honesty, the best thing about it is that it stands on its own. I don't have to deal with sequel after sequel and wonder if the series will ever finish.
Would recommend to just about anyone interested in the litrpg genre.
Fabulous read! I had a hard time putting this one down. I found Liam and Kat to be very likable and they were individuals. The author did a great job of giving each character his or her own voice. The story was well written, fast-paced, and a serious page turner. Some things were predictable, but overall, I was delighted. Yes, some editing is needed, and yet the mistakes in the book were easy for me to overlook because the story was so enjoyable. I'm looking forward to another story from this author.
